Digital Earth 2015 seeks abstracts describing the state of the art and practice relating to the five conference themes. We invite the submission of abstracts for consideration by the Scientific Program Committee. Interested contributors should submit an abstract (maximum 250 words, in English language) of the paper they propose for oral or poster presentation.
The Scientific Program Committee will be responsible for the selection of presentations and posters from the submitted abstracts. Oral presentations will be grouped into sessions related to the five central themes. Poster presentations will be featured at prominent meeting locations during dedicated times in the symposium schedule.
All accepted papers will be published online as abstracts in the conference program. In addition, papers passing peer-review will be published online at iop.org in the IOP Conference Series (Earth and Environmental Science), and abstracted in Scopus, Web of Science, Geobase, etc. Authors will also have the opportunity to submit their paper for publication in the peer-reviewed literature, in special conference-related issues of relevant journals such as the International Journal of Digital Earth. Accepted papers will be published only if presented at the Symposium by one of the listed authors duly registered.
How to Submit an Abstract
Authors who wish to give a presentation or poster should submit an abstract adhering to the following instructions:
The title of your abstract should not exceed 25 words. For the abstract volume the title of your abstract will be automatically formatted to 14 point Times New Roman in bold lettering.
For the abstract volume your abstract will be automatically formatted to 12 point Times New Roman, with left and right margins evenly justified. The abstract should be complete in itself; no table numbers, figure numbers, references, or displayed mathematical expressions should be included. It should be suitable for direct inclusion in the abstract booklet of the Symposium.
The text of the abstract should not exceed 250 words and be restricted to two paragraphs without the use of headers. Since symposium participants rely heavily on the titles and abstracts to identify papers and posters of special interest, great care should be taken in constructing both.
Please do NOT enter the author information in the abstract submission area. This information will be collected from the author information as entered in separate fields.
Authors may present up to two abstracts, though their names may appear on other abstracts. All presenters are required to register for the conference.
The abstract submission site will require you to select both a first and second theme choice. Please select the theme most relevant to your abstract. This will better assist the scientific program committee to determine placement within the Digital Earth 2015 program.
Please note: the Scientific Program Committee maintains the flexibility to assign your presentation to another theme, if it is determined by them to be better suited to another theme category.
The abstract submission procedure will ask for up to three keywords to describe your abstract. When creating your keywords, it is recommended to use words that one would use to search for your topic within the abstract volume.
